A few years ago I cut out a piece of brace comb which had eggs laid in it and left it on a shelf for a few days. I then used it to make a starter strip in an apidea frame and I noticed later that they had managed to start several larvae on it.

eggs sounds a bit mean
can't the members enter into the spirit of things and swap a few queens
(even virgins are better than eggs)

Back to eggs
if you use the nicot cassette system you can most easily get the larva accepted in the same hive
(its easy to experiment with eggs that might be a good place to start)
Brood rearing has dropped here as oil seed rape disappeared so choosing a hive where the queen might lay in the cassette would be more difficult
