http://www.sbai.org.uk/images/H%20hibernica%20cr%20sm.jpgTook a stroll around Kingoodie at lunchtime. Here we are, E Scotland, 22 November and about 8C outside - uncomfortable without a jacket. The ivy has been flowering (and supporting a wealth of insects) since the start of September. Today there were still bees out gathering the goodies.
Also bluebottles, drone flies, assorted flies and one queen wasp out enjoying the feast.

See the robust flower shoots, the wide leaves on the flower shoots, the pale foliage? Big flowers? Growing on a sunny wall? Hedera hibernica, the Atlantic ivy.
