I got it within a job lot of BK equipment at auction. I'm new to beekeeping and the best I've come up with so far is something to do with candle making? Cannot find where to add pics. It's wooden, hinged in the middle, identical both sides. Resembles a butter paddle thing and has long square columns cut out width-wise.

Beth, when writing a post, look for the picture icon third from right. Click on it, and choose the From Computer tab, then Select Files, select them, and then Upload files.

Sounds like a gadget which used to be in Thornes catalogue, used for crushing small amounts of honey comb (wrapped in muslin).

Yes, that looks like it, with teeth and grooves to allow the honey to run.

Particularly with small amounts of ling heather honey.
