Thought for a minute you were trying to tickle it with a blue nitrile glove. The pictures have a look about them that suggests you'd retreated to outside the kitchen window to take the photos? :)

Bombus pascuorum, the carder bee. The first one looked a bit like the tree bumble bee, the new one spreading north from England, but no - it is a carder bee.
