I've spotted this in their sale http://www.thorne.co.uk/windsor-stockbridge/sale-miscellaneous?product_id=6055

Has anybody got one? If so, how does it work and is it worth buying?

I had the idea of getting it as a gift for a beekeeper who has almost everything, but uses old saucepans and bowls for the later stages of wax cleaning.

It looks pretty good to me

I like the simplicity of it

I bought one but have not used it yet. To fill, tip it sideways pull off the cap and fill with water, replace cap. The downside appears to be that it will need re-filling with water if much wax is to be melted so may be only useful for small quantities. Hope someone who actually used it will reply for you.

Doesn't look like it's a common thing to have so it would probably end up in the cupboard next to the toasted sandwich maker.

No male teenage children then? If so, it would have pride of place in the kitchen ... the sandwich maker, not the Bain Marie

Isn't that their mum .... and perhaps occasionally their dad?

Children enjoyed using the sandwich maker, until they realised it had to be cleaned. A wok is easier to clean, but makes messier toasties than a grill.

Could a Bain Marie live a double life instead of being relegated to a cupboard. What else could it be used for?

Hi Bumble
Its only £12 and for the beekeeper who has almost everything would make a nice present
along with a badge saying "I have Everything"

At £12 there's not much to lose and the, "I have everything!" badge would be amusing, even if I have to make it myself!

Pity, I#ve never seen one of these things in Lidl.

These guys seem to make badges but minimum order is 10
