Ok, so this isn't about keeping bees, but....
For those of you that can get your hands on lots of rhubarb, below is my favourite recipe (probably from C J J Berry)
Chop 3lb rhubarb and cover with 3lb sugar- leave overnight.
Put on your latex gloves and gently squash the pulp. ( preferably not the ones used to go through the hive) Strain the juice into the demijohn and rinse the rhubarb with warm boiled water until the demijohn is full.
Add tannin, yeast and nutrient and place in the airlock.
Once fermented to your own personal taste of dryness, rack into a clean demijohn and leave to settle until it needs racking again.
Once sparkly clear, leave to mature for a few years ( best in the DJ with a cork in and left in a cool place)
Simple yet effective. i'm planning to try it with honey instead of sugar this year just to see what its like. It makes a good wine for mixing with others too. One thing to note though is that I've never managed to do 2 batches the same, but they're all delic:cool:
